David Roberts

FRCS (ORL)

David Roberts (MBBS BSc FRCS ORL) has been a consultant Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon for more than twenty years. Currently appointed to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, he was the clinical lead to the ENT and Head & Neck department for ten years.

During his specialist training, he was a European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery Fellow.  This included visiting fellowships to Lyon, Nice and Cannes and the Amsterdam Medical Centre where he was trained in complex rhinoplasty and facial aesthetics.

Mr Roberts specialises in rhinoplasty, complex sinus surgery and endoscopic neurosurgery in adults and children, whilst also lecturing nationally and internationally on many aspects of nasal, sinus and skull base surgery.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a past examiner for the Intercollegiate Speciality Board. He is a member of ENT-UK and the European Rhinology Society, and an active member of the British Association of Otorhinolaryngology.

Mr Roberts is registered with the General Medical Council as a specialist for Otolaryngology (GMC No 3200724) and is a member of the following professional bodies; The Royal College of Surgeons of England, The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, ENT UK and Facial Plastic Surgery UK.

Raj Lakhani

FRCS

Raj Lakhani is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with a specialist interest in advanced nasal, sinus and facial plastic surgery including rhinoplasty. He provides comprehensive ENT care to adults and children. He is based at St George’s University Hospital and Epsom Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer to St George’s Medical School, University of London.

He has completed the majority of his undergraduate and postgraduate training in London teaching hospitals. He gained further experience in rhinoplasty and sinus surgery at international centres of excellence in Zurich and Milan. He has also undertaken a sub-specialist facial plastics, rhinoplasty and sinus surgery fellowship in London.

He has a strong interest in academia and has recently completed a masters degree in Evidence Based Healthcare at University College London. He has a keen interest in training surgeons and is invited to teach on sinus surgery, rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery courses.

Florian Bast

FRCS

Florian is a fully licensed substantive consultant ENT surgeon at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, with a specialist interest in rhinology and facial plastic surgery.  Previously he was an ENT Consultant at the University of Berlin, Germany.

During training he studied at: University of Heidelberg, Germany; NYU, New York, USA; University of Sydney, Australia; and University of Zurich, Switzerland.  He completed his higher surgical training at the University of Heidelberg and University of Berlin, Germany.  He received the German Board Certification as Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (UK CCT equivalent) in 2011, and the German Board Certification for Sub-specialisation in Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Operations in 2015.

In 2014 he spent 18-months doing the highly prestigious craniofacial and facial-plastic fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

His main focus is on rhinology and facial plastic surgery which includes medical and surgical treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis including balloon sinuplasty, functional and aesthetic septo-rhinoplasties, as well as surgery for patients with snoring problems and obstructive sleep apnoea. He is also one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK in performing endoscopic balloon dilatation of the Eustachian Tube.

He is registered with the General Medical Council as a specialist for Otolaryngology (GMC No 7381518) and is a member in the following professional medical specialist societies: Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, ENT UK, FPS UK, the German ENT Society.

As part of his academic work, he lectures at national and international conferences, and has published extensively in his field of expertise.  He is also an editorial reviewer of major scientific papers in the field of Otolaryngology and Facial plastic surgery.

Jo Rimmer

FRCS

Joanne Rimmer is a consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon based at Monash Health in Melbourne, Australia, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University.

She specialises in conditions of the nose and sinuses, including rhinoplasty and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, and regularly publishes on these subjects. She trained in London and subsequently undertook two fellowships in rhinology and facial plastic surgery, in Australia and London, before relocating to Melbourne.

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an active member of the British and European Rhinologic Societies as well as Facial Plastic Surgery UK.

Hiba Al-Reefy

FRCS

Hiba Al-Reefy is a consultant ENT surgeon with a special interest in rhinology and facial plastic surgery at King Hamad University Hospital, Kingdom of Bahrain.

She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a member of ENT-UK, the European Rhinology Society, the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.

She completed her rhinology and anterior skull base surgery training at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital where she was working as a consultant rhinologist prior to her move back to Bahrain. She is currently the head of the ENT department at King Hamad University Hospital, Bahrain.

George Vassos

FRCS

Mr George Vassos is a consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon with a practice based in Athens, Greece. Since finishing his speciality training in Greece, he has worked for a number of years in the UK, sub-specialising in rhinology and gaining significant experience under Mr David Roberts in Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Besides the treatment of general ENT conditions, he has a special interest in complex endoscopic cases of the nose and sinuses. He also specialises in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty.
