Why a specialist Nose Clinic?

Consultant rhinologists have specialist expertise in the management of nose and sinus related problems. They work closely with respiratory physicians as nasal disorders may co-exist with chest problems such as asthma.

The Object of the Services Offered

We aim to improve the shape and/or function of the nose - these two parameters may be interlinked. There may however be separate or additional problems. The object of the Nose Clinic is to offer an individual service specific to your needs.

Initial Consultation

At your initial consultation we will discuss your specific concerns and perform an examination of the ear, nose and throat. This may involve endoscopic procedures carried out under local anaesthesia.

If necessary, further investigations may be arranged at this time e.g. blood tests, CT or MRI scans, skin prick allergy tests or digital medical photographs and computerised profile planning.

It is important that we know about any other medical problems, any medication you are taking and any allergies you may have.  A letter from your general practitioner is preferred.

Follow up appointments

Prior to your hospital discharge, you will be given your follow up appointment. Should this appointment time be inconvenient, please discuss this with our clinic secretaries who will arrange a mutually convenient appointment. It is important to keep your follow up appointment.

Post-Operative Care

At the time of your admission, you will be given the contact details for your surgeon and his partners to ensure that post-operative contact is available to you.

If you plan to leave the London area during your convalescence, complications may need to be dealt with by your local NHS services.  Ideally, you should remain within the London area for ten days following nose surgery.
